Second Nature Nursery presents baby Benjamin, reborn from a 16inch Euro Berenguer made from silicone-vinyl. The popular ''interested'' sculpt is now an adorable premmie boy ready to go home to his new mummy or daddy.
Ben has been reborn by the mother and daughter team here at Second Nature Nursery. Starting with stripping his factory paint and having a long soak to remove all residues. Baby Ben was then painted with very thin layers of Genesis Heat Set Paints, starting with neutralising the red tones of the original doll. Each layer laid down with a mottled effect in transparent skin tones. The effect is that of real skin that changes in the light. All detail was added between layers and Genesis is heat set so it is permanent and lightfast. Ben has a very natural newborn look with storkbites, veining and capillaries.
Ben's hair is handrooted with beautifully soft Premium Anghora Mohair in a dark brown colour, it is sparse to represent such a new baby and has been directionally rooted to follow the pattern of natural hairgrowth. All his hair is double sealed on the inside to allow it to be gently brushed and styled by his new mummy. It looks nice brushed straight but has a natural wave for a different look.
No detail has been overlooked, from Ben's freshly clipped nails to his carefully picked outfit. His nails and lips have been painted using the Genesis paints, see how natural they look and they will not chip or fade. Ben comes to his new mummy in the outfits he wears - a Mothercare two-piece. He will also have a rebirth certificate and baby blanket/shawl.

Benjamin has been filled and weighted using glass granules and fibre fill in his limbs to prevent the 'crunching' caused by filling silione-vinyl with pellets. His head is filled with the same and the wonderfully squidgy ''Baby Fat'' in his torso. He feels just like a new baby, his head will need supporting gently and he is cuddly to hold, you won't want to put this little one down!!
All of Ben's pictures have been taken by ourselves in the garden/light tent at various times of day.
